I have been putting the final touches on my latest novel this last week. It is the final read-through before we go to print. I have come to a part where Jacob, the MCs father, who was the MC of the first novel is advising his son, Michael regarding his current struggle. It hit home for me; a reminder that God is always there no matter what situation we may be facing.
In this book, Jacob is the pastor of the church he was a member of in the first book. The advice he gives to his son would make a good sermon. I thought about it and wondered what his sermon notes would look like. What would God say to them and what would God speak to me as I face my struggles today? I came across these four points:
God never forgets us.
Just because we face trials does not mean that God has neglected us. We constantly read through scripture that God’s heroes of the faith faced challenges. Abraham, Joseph, and David all faced their own obstacles, yet God was always there with them. We are encouraged through scripture that He will be with us, no matter what we face.
God gives us a partner.
Abraham had Sarah, Moses had Aaron, David had Johnathan, Paul had Barnabas. Whether it be a spouse or other partner in the faith, God provides someone in our life who will encourage us and lead us to be better than we were yesterday.
God guides us along the way.
Your situation may not change but you will have the peace that someone is with you. Too many people believe that if they face difficulty then God is not with them. Isaiah reminds us He lights the way, telling us to walk in it.
God’s love is unconditional.
When we do fail, He receives us back, no matter what. There is no sin too big that will cause Him to not love us. His arms are always waiting for us. All we need to do is return to Him.
God’s loves us and never leaves us alone. We just need to trust in our faith and as the word tells us, lean not on our own understanding. God Bless, my friends.
“Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” Whenever you turn to the right hand, or whenever you turn to the left.” – Isaiah 30:21
