This last week our pastor gave an illustration that hit home. He talked about how each of us is distinct. We are all created and serve a purpose, but you can tell who created us just by looking at the design.
He used the example of knives. We have several members of our church who create and sell knives. While the final product is a knife and each of them will serve the same purpose, you look at each of the designs carefully, and you know the designer, you can tell who made that particular knife. Each will carry the markings of that particular designer.
The same can be said of our lives as Christians. We are all human. But once Christ has impacted us, we now carry his mark. People should know us just by looking at us, seeing our behavior, listening to how we talk. Jesus should affect every part of our lives, and the world should recognize us as His.
When we have been changed, we should allow that to impact every aspect of our lives so others will see and in turn desire to want to know Christ. Then he can continue to refine and mold us into the person he desires us to be.
“Know that the Lord, He is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.” – Psalm 100:3
