Hey, Weekend Writing Warriors. I received a bit of good news this week. I was approved for Disability. Well partially. I will only receive it from my 50th birthday. Meaning, I wont get it from the date of my disability which began in 2019. My attorney said I could fight it, but that could mean risking the current judgment. I am taking what I have now and letting the rest go. It’s not worth it. I do have to refile next year though. So, we will see how it goes, but I will finally see some relief financially.

SYNOPSIS:
Masters has retired and Grady now leads the team. All seems well until a series of murders take place resembling the killings four years ago. Grady receives a call from Masters that he has uncovered something at a local warehouse.
A gun runner is using a long-forgotten facility. As the team investigates, they discover more than meets the eye when clues lead them to realize the two events may be related.
It is only a matter of time before an old nemesis resurfaces and extends a challenge none of them expects.
SNIPPET:
Summary:
The Transference II is a sequel to The Transference. It takes place roughly six months after the close of the first novel. The team is settling back into normal cop life when the past resurfaces and they are sent back into the craziness of tracking a killer who should’ve been dead long ago.
Here is a bit from last week:
“Boss!” a voice called from behind him. Grady turned and saw LaCrosse. He waved him over.
“This is one of my Detectives from our Savannah department. I hope you will treat him better than you have treated me. Continue with your scene here. We will check the hotel. I expect a full report. Find that gun, Officer.”
Grady has arrived to the scene and is questioning officers. LaCrosse has joined him.
Grady took LaCrosse’s arm and led him toward the street and the hotel beyond it.
“Masters is dead,” Grady said.
“I know. I passed the coroner’s van coming in,” LaCrosse said.
“I’m sorry. I know the two of you were close.”
“We all were.”
“I know you two go back, though. If you need someone—”
“James, I’m fine. Seriously. Let’s get through this. We can mourn later,” LaCrosse said.
There is your ten, let’s continue on for a bit.
The lobby of the hotel was clean and smelled of the sea. A manager was standing at the front desk looking important. He pursed his lips with their approach. Grady felt they were about to hit the same stone wall they had in the alley across the street.
“How can I help you, Officers?”
Grady showed his badge, as did LaCrosse.
“My apologies, Detectives. I would assume you are here due to the activity across the street?”
“Yes, sir. May I ask you a couple of questions?” Grady said.
“As long as it’s not about resident confidentiality. That I am not allowed to divulge, I hope you can understand.”
“Of course,” LaCrosse said. “We are simply trying to protect the public. What happened across the street was one of our own was murdered in broad daylight. We believe the individual responsible was someone staying in your fine establishment. Now, I could go to a judge and obtain a court order to get the list of names of your tenants. Then, most likely, according to your statutes, you would have to send a letter to each of them, telling them that you had to divulge their information. Or you could just answer a couple of questions for my partner and me. They are simple yes or no questions. We won’t ask for names or personal information.”
The manager bit the corner of his mouth and hit a few keys on his keyboard. “What do you need to know, Detective?”
“Have you had any tenants check out today?” LaCrosse asked.
“Yes,” the manager said. “I can’t tell you how many, though, but it is more than one.”
“Were any of those tenants disabled, in a wheelchair?”
The manager’s eyes looked down and back up to the detective. “I cannot confirm nor deny that we had a disabled tenant check out this afternoon.”
“Was he alone?” Grady asked.
“That I cannot answer,” the manager said.
“What time did your tenant leave today?”
“I cannot answer that question either?”
Grady looked over his shoulder. “Was it about the time the commotion began across the street?”
The manager looked between the two Detectives, up to the window toward the flashing lights, “I believe it may have been.”
Thoran and Greer have managed to get away. The question now remains, how much does Greer know about Thoran’s extra-curricular activities? Stay tuned my friends.
