In His Time

As I was lying in bed last night, an old gospel song popped into my head. I had been thinking about everything that has gone on in the past several months in my life and how God had orchestrated every moment to fall in place. While there were moments of difficulty, and some still exist, but I know that He makes all things beautiful In His Time. I just need to keep my trust in Him.

We all have those dark moments where our prayers seem to go unanswered. They seem to bounce off a rubber ceiling. Those ‘no’ or ‘wait’ are coming more than the ‘yeses.’ Why, God, why? Don’t you love me? You promised the best to those who trust in you. Why not me? Have we ever wondered that a ‘no’ answer may be what is best? Perhaps the waiting will be better than the instant gratification we are seeking.

God knows what is best. If I had received some of my ‘noes,’ then my life would be quite different. I would not have the blessings of my wife, my kids, or the writing career I now have. One left turn instead of a right could have taken me somewhere I do not recognize today. I know now, I wouldn’t change today for the world. I’ve learned God knows what he is doing. Always.

One thing we must understand is that God is outside of time. Today, tomorrow, next year is a blink of His eye. If you feel you are called to go or do something, be patient for its fulfillment. If you are waiting for that call to come, be patient; your answer is on its way.

We may never fully understand this side of Heaven, what holds up blessings, answers, healings, or things to work out in your situation, but God is on it. He always is. It will happen, in His time.

“Wait on the Lord; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the Lord!” -Psalm 27:14
