I spoke of being patient yesterday in my video blog and how difficult it is to wait on the Lord. But when God calls us to go, it’s time to take action. Moses, at first, made excuses. He first blamed his speech, eventually asking God to send someone else. God then paired him up with his brother Aaron. But that didn’t cancel his call to go.
Jesus also called the disciples. And in the middle of the storm, they feared and questioned Jesus. He asked them about their doubts. In that history lesson, Jesus had already told them ‘Let us go to the other side.’ Coming from Jesus, that was assurance they would reach the other side.
In Moses’ story, they faced many obstacles: no food, water, and a huge sea that stood in the way. God delivered them in each instance. But because of God’s call, he saw them through each of these situations. And we have these as proof that there is nothing that God will not abandon us to.
When we face our rivers, storms, or sustenance shortages, we have his providence guarantee. Never will I leave you or forsake you is written as a reminder for all ages. But there is action on our part. In fact, waters never part until our feet get wet. So, when we feel He is not there, or the storms coming, we need to first pray. Then act on whatever the Lord leads us to do. Let’s jump into that water with both feet and get soaked.
“And the Lord, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you; He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed.” – Deuteronomy 31:8
