I have an item in my phone case that I just can’t seem to part with. It is a torn dollar bill. I’ve been told that a dollar bill can still be replaced if more than 50 percent of it is intact. As you can see, this bill clearly meets those standards. But for some reason, I have not traded it in. I don’t know if it’s just the fact that I haven’t been in a bank for the longest time, or if, for some internal reason, it has some sentimental value. Honestly, I don’t even remember how it came into my possession. I know it was not out of the wash, I can tell you that much.
As I scrolled across the above image, God spoke to my heart. I stopped and looked at it; the term replacement value came to mind… if more than 50 percent of that bill were damaged, that bill would be worthless. If you’ve seen my vlog this week, you know that I’ve been struggling a bit. Mind you, I am far from being more than 50 percent damaged, but there are so many in this world who are hurting, who struggle with pain, addiction, life issues that leave them at life’s bottom. They feel like a torn-up bill.
But the greatest thing about God’s love is that it doesn’t matter how torn or mutilated you may be; you are redeemable. Jesus’ blood saw to that. You can give him your stomped-on, torn-up, crushed heart, and He will mend it and give you a new one. 50 percent, 25 percent, even if you feel you are at 5 percent, Jesus wants your heart. It is redeemable in full. Just trust Him, give Him your heart, and He does the rest. Will you give him your heart today?
