With NaNoWriMo, I am taking you on the journey with me and giving you snippets from the book I’m writing. Keep in mind that these will be raw and unedited. So, excuse errors and grammar.
My piece for NaNoWriMo will be The Five Barred Gate III. Considering that The Five Barred Gate II will be released on January 5th, it would be my next logical piece to pen. Enjoy.
The Five Barred Gate is a dystopian world where the government has enacted laws against freedom of speech. This has hurt the religious community the most.
9/16/2025: No real update here. With Transference II coming out in October, all focus is on that. I will update when it comes.
7/26/2025: As you may already know, TFBGII has been released and is a great success. Now we look to the final installment. And TFBGIII already has a release window. Spring of 2026. I am in the middle of the final edit now and should have it in my publisher’s hands around the time y’all are reading The Transference II. Remember it hits shelves in October. It’s a rotating door right now. Not sure what happens after that. I don’t have anything planned or on the schedule to write. I may just take a much needed break. Lord knows my mind needs it.
And seeing the above, I realize I have not written the synopsis for this book, even though it is complete. I need to rectify that.
Jan 1, 2025: There has been a delay with publishing The Five Barred Gate II. We are now looking at the end of February. I will keep you posted.
1/13/2025: I had chosen to write this book during NaNoWriMo 2024. I made slow progress at it as I didn’t have it completely formulated in my head. I just felt the need to write during the challenge. I got about half way through it and with family commitments at home, I was unable to complete the 50K challenge. It was only the second time I had to tap out of NaNo. The first time was with The Transference, but that was due to a seizure cluster and I only missed it by 5K.
I do plan to pick this book up again, maybe later this year. NaNo does have a challenge in July, maybe I will pick it up again then, perhaps I will have where I want to go with it by then.
