Weekend Writing Warriors – 4/28/24 – The Five Barred Gate II – I Know Who You Are

Hey, Weekend Writing Warriors. Another week has passed and it has been a difficult one. I started it off with a seizure cluster. As you know I have Epilepsy and it does rear it’s head every so often, even fully medicated. So, last Sunday set my week off on a sour note. But Friday ended on a rather exciting note. I had jury duty. I was selected and served. I was even the foreman. It was a small traffic violation, but was exciting nonetheless.

Well, enough about me, let’s dive back into the dangerous world of our characters. I know we are getting into the nitty gritty of it, the courtroom. And hey, now I have a bit of experience for my novel.

SYNOPSIS:

Michael Andrews thought he was far removed from the events his father experienced twenty years ago. He heard the bedtime stories so often, he had driven them out and was barely speaking to his dad. Religion was the last thing he wanted, until it became the only thing that mattered.

A new threat arises; his wife is arrested for talking about God to the wrong person. Now Jacob Andrews may be his only hope. He must lean on him, Rachel’s attorney, and those who understand what occurred twenty years ago and may be happening now when an old adversary returns to wreak havoc, using federal laws to exact revenge on the Andrews family.

Will he succeed, or will justice prevail to set Rachel free?

    1. No, I only do one POV per scene and it will usually will last for that chapter. I make it very clear that the POV is changing. This novel only has three POVs. Michael’s, Johnathan’s(the attorney), and Jacob’s. And thanks for the encouragement.

  1. What a scary world you write about, Jeff. I’m so sorry about your seizure cluster. And how cool is that that you got jury duty? FIlling the well we writers draw from.

Life here is not without its challenges. I hope to get back to writing. I miss you guys. 🙂

    1. It is a scary world. A world we can almost see ourselves inching toward, almost, unfortunately.

It is good to see you back. Not sure how long you’ve been gone, I am just returning myself. And yes. I am feeling much better. Health is always a challenge, but we get thought it.

I love having that well to draw from. Life is an experience we all pull from in our writings. I love being able to use that. I did that a lot with Little Reminders. Praying for you. God bless!!
