Hey Guys. Welcome to another Weekend Writing Warriors. Here we go. A new week. I disputed posting a snippet this week with there being no linky, but I’m excited to get this book out to you. And if you miss this one, y’all can catch up next week when there is a linky. I will be brief, so reading two will be simple. I’m excited where it’s heading, but not getting as much writing as I would like done. You know how that goes. But we all manage to get words in. Hope you enjoy diving in with me.
You can follow me on social media, especially on Twitter, or X nowadays. I post all links, especially for my Two Twenty Two Tuesday YouTube vlog. I always have something going on, X is the best place to keep up. God bless, friends.
SYNOPSIS:
Detective Grady is haunted by the final events of the second novel through a series of nightmares. Fear drives him to ask his tech genius, Carmen, to begin monitoring all search engines, news sites, and social media platforms for crimes that resemble their case two years ago.
After another nightmare, Grady begins to see the department psychologist which helps him. Two weeks go by and Grady decides to ask Carmen to cancel the search, but that morning, Carmen has found something. This time in Mexico.
SNIPPET:
Right now I am only a chapter our adventure. I will be starting from Chapter One. The book opens two years after the events of The Transference II. Life has gotten back to normal, but Detective Grady is still disturbed about the final events and some of what Tanner had said to him before he died. His nightmares are a constant reminder of them.
Here we go:
Grady woke up in a cold sweat. He looked around the room, grateful he was safe back in his bed at home. He took a deep breath and exhaled. It was the third night this month that he had had a nightmare. Maybe Elizabeth was right; it was time to see the department psychologist about them.
Elizabeth stirred at his snapping up. “You okay, James?”
“I’m fine, Lizzy,” he said. “Go back to sleep, babe.”
There is your ten, or so. Let’s continue on for a bit more.
He looked at the clock. It was just before four thirty. He was set to get up at six. The team was meeting at seven to look over the Lockhart case. An extortion case that turned to murder when the extortee chose to stop taking the abuse. The problem is there was no body. There was plenty of evidence of foul play, even of Mr. Lockhart being at the crime scene, just no body. Yet, having a case like his was a relief from dealing with what Tanner put them through.
Grady relaxed his head on the pillow, but sleep eluded him, so he got up and showered and shaved. Elizabeth had not moved from the curled-up ball she slept in, so he chose not to stir her. He dressed as quietly as possible and went downstairs to make the coffee.
Keep in mind this is the rough draft, and has not been edited. So it needs a lot of work. Just placing it here my teeth gritted. But there is a time to write, and there is a time to edit. Editing is my favorite part of the writing process. Chipping away and remolding the rough and raw to make a beautiful work. I can’t wait!!

Getting by. Multiple surgeries on my end as well. Not sure if you’ve been keeping up, but late last year they found cancer in an appendix tumor. I’ve had two surgeries. But I am cancer-free today and no treatment is necessary. Praise God!! They still want to monitor me because the cancer was, as the Oncologist put it, an “extremely very rare” type of cancer. So, I will have blood work and scans done regularly to check for reoccurrence. I will keep you in prayer for your treatment and healing. God bless.

Glad to hear you’re back in writing mode. Looking forward to reading more.
Also thought about a “linky” alternative, but don’t want to step on anybody’s toes 😉
