I had lunch with a friend from church today. We have been meeting for the last couple of months. We both have been going through surgeries and health hurdles the last year. I enjoy our time together, talking about how God is working in our lives, bringing healing and other spiritual successes. It reminds me that I am under God’s hand, and I don’t have to focus on what doctors say about my medical care. It was one of our topics today.
Another gentleman joined us today and he as well has had his share of medical victories. On a side note, I realized that I have graduated from being a young-un to being one of the older generation that sits around a diner talking about their battle scars and the medications they take. I remember being twelve and sitting with my grandfather and uncle and them sharing their stories. I am in that arena now. But as said, God is working, and He is in control.
We all agreed that no matter what the outcome of whatever diagnosis we may be handed, that God is in control. We celebrated victories. I recounted this past week’s miracle of Dylan’s pathology. God is good!! We talked about how my friend is ahead of schedule on his up and around after his surgery and not having to go back unless something goes wrong at home. God is good!! And then with me, I finally got my appointment for my PET.
God is with us wherever we are. We just need to trust Him for whatever outcome He has for us. He is in control. He heals, He knows what is going on right where we are. We could be 22 or 50 or in our 60s. God is still in the healing business. Praise His name!! You can trust Him as well, right where you are. Know that prayer works, so, never give up. He knows where you are. Regardless of if the answer is yes, no, or wait. He answers prayer. Be still and wait.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” – Philippians 3:5-6

Or even an 80-year-old awaiting a CT scan. . . . Thanks, Jeff! #aginggratefully
(I haven’t been able to eat solids most of the month, and my newest book was just published this month. What a bittersweet week, but still in God’s plan.)

I hear ya. We take the good with the not so good. And yes, it is all part of his plan. I know there is a reason for it all. I have my thoughts and am willing to walk it if it makes things easier for all involved.
