It is pretty exciting as a writer when someone approaches you and talks about one of your novels. It is especially thrilling when more than one person in that same week brings up the same book. It then sends you over the moon to tell both of them that you are currently editing the sequel to the book they were so hyped up about. It is confirmation I am on the right road and need to finish The Five Barred Gate II — I need to finish it.

Getting the Draft Done

I have had the idea for this book for well over a year. The draft has been sitting in a file folder for six months, and I have been dabbling with editing it here and there. The hold up has been getting The Transference on shelves and now Little Reminders of Who I Will Become to the public in October. I don’t want to lose the momentum of this book because it is the trilogy’s finale. So, I will wait.

Finishing the Edit

How long I will wait is the question. First, I still need to finish the edit; I am near completion. I have five chapters left. Then it goes to WordCrafts Press for their edit, then back to me for a final read-through. Then we can go to print. Right now, I am still waiting for the final read-through print for Little Reminders III so we can go to print in October. It all is a process. But I love every minute of it. Yes, it means a delay to you, the readers I opened with waiting for The Five Barred Gate II. But I guarantee it will be worth it.

I will give you this much. The Five Barred Gate II info can be found on my website. I have an update on what it is all about, the plot, characters, and timeline, and if you want what I am writing, I am also giving the novel itself through The Weekend Writing Warriors group I am part of. I release snippets of the book weekly on Sundays. I am nearing the end of that stretch, though. I don’t want to give away too much. People need to want to purchase the book when it gets released… whenever that will be. Probably the middle of next year.
